Block Google DNS on TP-Link Routers

Step 1: Start by adding the playmoTV DNS to your router via our router setup guide, but don’t leave the router setup page.

Step 2: If you're using PPPoE to connect make sure that you set the DNS under PPPoE advanced as well.

Step 3: Check the IP address of your router (which is probably 192.168.1.1, 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.254). You should see it in the address bar of your browser.

Step 4: Select Advanced Routing in the menu on the left.

Step 5: Now, for the real deal:

To add static routes to your TP-Link router that blocks Google's DNS servers, click the Add button to start adding an entry to your static route list.

Step 4.2: In the Destination IP address enter 8.8.8.8.

Step 4.3: For Netmask enter 255.255.255.255.

Step 4.4: Enter the Router IP (noted in step 3) as your Default Gateway.

Step 4.5: In the Status field make sure it's Enabled.

Step 4.7: Repeat these steps, but enter "8.8.4.4" in step 4.1, and then click Apply to enable these settings.

Step 5: After you have applied your changes, reboot your router and try again.
