How to Sideload Android Apps on Your Device

It's somewhat common that our users wish to access an app for one of the  services we support, when they cannot find it in the Google Play Store. This is because Google has, for some reason, determined that your Google Play account is in some country, and that app is not available in that country.

The easiest way to get that app is by sideloading the APK file (APK stands for Android Package Kit, the package file format used by Android) onto the device itself.

To sideload an app do the following:

  1. Enable apps to be installed from Unknown Sources. This is usually a setting in Settings > Security.
  2. Go to APKMirror.com on your Android device and search for the application you want to install.
  3. Download the application and launch it.
  4. That's it!
